Getting To Christiansburg
The Smart Way Bus
A popular public transportation choice available to Christiansburg residents and guests is The Smart Way Bus. This program is a partnership between Valley Metro (City of Roanoke), Virginia Tech, and the Towns of Christiansburg and Blacksburg.

Megabus
Looking to go a little further than the New River Valley or Roanoke?

Megabus has expanded its service to offer a direct route from Knoxville, TN to Washington, DC for as little as $1/day. Three stops will be made each day in Christiansburg at the park and ride lot at Exit 118A -- meaning you can step on a bus in town and arrive in Knoxville or D.C. just a few hours later!

The estimated time of arrival in Christiansburg for northbound buses (traveling to DC) is 1:20 p.m.; 5:20 p.m.; and 3:10 a.m. and for southbound buses (traveling to Knoxville) is 12:05 p.m.; 4:05 p.m.; and 1:15 a.m. daily.

Bus rides to Washington, D.C. can also be used to connect to other Megabus routes across the northeast.
