The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed park on the former Truman Wilson property on Peppers Ferry Road, N.W. The meeting may go into closed session pursuant to Code of Virginia §2.2-3711(A) (6) and §2.2-3711(A) (29).

The Dialogue on Race Law Enforcement Subcommittee meets the second Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Christiansburg Police Department. The committee is comprised of Montgomery County law enforcement leaders and residents. Chaired by Wornie Reed, the committee focuses on improving race relations, eliminating racial profiling, achieving law enforcement employee hiring that resembles the county's racial makeup, and supporting community policing efforts.

Christiansburg Town Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall. The meeting will go into closed session under Code of Virginia Section 2.2-3711(A)(1), for the discussion, consideration, or interviews of prospective candidates for employment; assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, disciplining, or resignation of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of any public body. The closed meeting is being held for interviews for professional legal services.

Opportunity SWVA has selected Christiansburg as one of the communities for the next round of RALLY. The fourth meeting about this grant will take place in the Blue Room above Mockingbird Cafe in Christiansburg on Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. The meeting will consist of analyzing crucial aspects of the community and what RALLY (Real Action Leadership Learning [YAY!]) can do for the community. The community is invited to attend and share ideas for a project in Christiansburg. Rally SWVA is an action learning program that not only offers funds for a visible project but encourages local leaders and the community to work together toward a common goal. The $3,000 mini-grant program enables communities to work together on selecting a project that advances the community vision and enhances the environment for entrepreneurs. There may be a quorum of Christiansburg Town Council members present at the event. No Town of Christiansburg official action will be taken, but Town business may be discussed.
